This posting will remain open throughout the entire Spring/Summer Youth Recreation Sports seasons.

Classification Summary
The City of Kennewick Parks and Recreation Department employs Recreation Attendants who will attend to rentals at various facilities in the City, monitor reserved picnic shelters, and check on programs at fields or parks. Recreation Attendants may work at multiple locations and will provide excellent customer service, enforce policies, and follow set guidelines.  A successful candidate will represent the City of Kennewick in a positive and professional manner.
 
Program Attendants will usually be scheduled between 10-70 hours per month based on business needs, typically on evenings, weekends, and holidays.  Schedules will be provided in advance but will be subject to change.  Recreation Attendants must maintain open communication with Parks and Recreation staff at all times.

Employment Standards

Work experience sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and, abilities to perform duties listed above.

  • Must be assertive and dependable.
  • Must maintain regular attendance.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills, and previous customer service experience is highly desirable.
  • Available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a criminal background investigation.
  • Must maintain a level of mental and physical fitness required to perform the essential functions of this classification.
  • Experience in the sport or program you are applying for and/or experience working with youth.

 

Supplemental Requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
Work Schedule:
  • Weekdays and weekends
Benefits:  This position is not subject to health or retirement benefits.  But, this position is eligible for Washington State Paid Sick Leave to accrue 1 hour for every 40 hours worked.
