About the position

As a Content Team Lead at Awesome Motive, you will be an integral part of the WPForms team, collaborating with talented individuals to drive successful content strategies and marketing campaigns. This role is designed for someone who thrives in a leadership position, providing guidance and support to team members while fostering an environment of creativity and experimentation. You will be responsible for overseeing the execution of content marketing initiatives that not only engage our audience but also drive measurable results. Your leadership will be crucial in identifying potential obstacles and recommending process improvements to enhance team performance. In this position, you will lead a team of content creators and marketers, ensuring that they have the resources and support needed to succeed. You will engage in open conversations with your team to understand their progress, provide constructive feedback, and help them navigate challenges. Your expertise in SEO and analytics will be essential as you guide your team in optimizing content for search engines and measuring the effectiveness of marketing efforts. You will also be expected to communicate regularly with the Content Manager about any issues or challenges faced by you or your direct reports, ensuring that everyone is aligned and working towards common goals. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is not only passionate about content marketing but also possesses a strong understanding of the latest trends and technologies in the industry. You should be comfortable experimenting with new strategies and engaging your team in innovative approaches to content creation. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for executing successful content strategies and marketing campaigns that drive results.
  • Direct team members' work, remove barriers to success, and proactively identify potential blockers.
  • Have open conversations with team members to understand task status, identify obstacles, and provide feedback and leadership.
  • Provide conversion-focused feedback and suggestions for content marketing activities across all channels.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of SEO/GEO, Google updates, and analytics.
  • Communicate regularly with the Content Manager about any issues or challenges faced by you or your direct reports.
  • Be a role model; lead by example in your communication and attendance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in content production and growth marketing for product-led/freemium SaaS, ideally in the B2B/SMB space.
  • Proven management experience with a successful track record of leading a team of 3-5 people, including hiring, training, motivating, and retaining talent.
  • Good working knowledge of managing self-hosted WordPress sites.
  • Experience in conversion rate optimization, email optimization, and video marketing.
  • Advanced understanding of SEO best practices and AI platforms, including the use of generative AI to enhance content strategy.
  • Ability to develop effective strategies to drive growth based on understanding the target audience.
  • Comfortable creating reports in tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, GA4, and Looker Studio, and measuring valuable outcomes on YouTube.
  • Effective communication skills across the team and the business, including providing feedback and constructive criticism.
