Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SALT Partner to lead the State and Local Tax (SALT) department at a top 100 accounting and consulting firm. This leadership role is critical for managing client engagements, mentoring team members, and contributing to the firm's growth and profitability. As a SALT Partner, you will oversee high-value tax projects, advise clients on complex tax matters, and drive strategic initiatives for the department.

This hybrid role offers flexibility while requiring in-office presence for client engagements, team leadership, and firm-wide initiatives. Hiring in Dallas, Los Angeles or Orange County

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical tax reviews and approve income or sales tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity.
  • Lead client engagements, ensuring timely and efficient completion within budgeted time.
  • Provide advanced technical expertise for advising clients on complex state and local tax matters.
  • Delegate and manage tax research projects to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee recruiting, training, and mentoring of tax staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  • Represent clients during governmental tax examinations and communicate with taxing authorities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the SALT practice and acquire new business opportunities.
  • Maintain knowledge of economic and political trends impacting tax legislation.
  • Adhere to accurate and timely billing and collection processes.
