JOB PURPOSE:   


Coordinates all aspects of the developmental, implementation and evaluation of the efficacy of individualized interventions, which are designed to address the priority needs of the clients on his/her caseload.




 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


 




  1. Provides hand on training and supervision to Supervisors, BPA, BPS and DCS.



  1. Is visibly present on the unit where he/she works, providing staff with assistance, training and supervision.



  1. Directs clients’ Annual IPP Update which is intended to review assessments of client behavioral repertories repertoires to determine priority habilitation needs and the type of interventions needed to address such needs.



  1. Conducts quarterly reviews of the client’s response to the aforementioned interventions by examining the relevant date and by making data-based programmatic adjustments and revisions as necessary.



  1. Ensures periodic probes of the data collection techniques being employed by staff.

  1. Ensures that each department (or discipline) responsible for the delivery of services or interventions, which are intended to address the priority needs of the clients, has a written program plan which conforms to and acceptable designated program format. This format includes, but is not limited to, the following elements



    1. Goal(s) and short-term objectives of the interventions are expressed in observable and measurable terms.



    1. Methodology for attaining goal(s) and objectives is clearly and comprehensively delineated.



    1. A measurement technique for evaluating the client’s response to his/her program.



    1. Methods and frequency of training staff and conducting quality assurance checks of staff performance in program implementation.





  1. Visits all areas or entities where interventions are being implemented (i.e., schools, activity center, etc.), in order to carry out the monitoring of activities referred to in #8 below.



  1. Ensures designated group activities for the clients meet the following criteria as implemented by the responsible discipline.



    1. Identifies an appropriate activity for a group of clients. The criteria to be used in identifying the appropriate activity are whether it is age and sex appropriate, and whether it relates to the attainment of each client’s priority goal(s).



    1. Trains Direct Care Staff involved in the activity to explain how the activity is directed related to the attainment of each client’s priority goal(s).



    1. Demonstrates to the staff how to conduct the activity.



    1. Consistently reinforces each client’s participation in the activity and assures that Direct Care Staff and other unit staff do the same.



    1. Clients and staff are physically present and participate in the activity.





  1. Conducts activity checks. The purpose of these checks is to determine the quality of the activity being conducted. The criteria to be used to determine the quality of an activity are:



    1. The extent (expressed as a percentage) of client participation in the activity.



    1. The extent (expressed as a percentage) of staff participation in the activity.



    1. Whether the materials and supplies to conduct the activity are readily available and properly utilized.



    1. Corrective feedback provided to staff, and retraining provided regarding the conduct of the activity.



    1. Whether any problems occur regarding the extent of staff and client participation in the activity. Trouble shooting and resolving these problems in a timely manner.





  1. Attends and participated in Placement and Evaluation Committee meetings.



  1. Attends and coordinates the IDT Medication review Team meetings and the Human rights and Ethics Committee meetings to presented data compilation, behavioral episodes, and physical findings of clients scheduled for review and evaluation. All staff involved in the care of the client will be informed and, when necessary, trained regarding recommendations or program revisions recommended by each of these committees.



  1. Adheres to ICF/MR regulations and all applicable state and federal laws.



 




MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:



 



Bachelors Degree in Psychology or Related field



 



MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



 



Minimum of one year of supervisory experience, preferably in a health care setting.
