About the position

The Neighborhood Services Intern position is designed to support the Neighborhood Services Grants Specialist in various community engagement initiatives, resource database management, and the promotion and administration of Neighborhood Services programs. The intern will engage in tasks that enhance community outreach and program effectiveness, contributing to the overall mission of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze program data to create a marketing plan to reach underserved areas.
  • Identify community contacts that city departments utilize in community engagement.
  • Organize and analyze a database of community contacts for consistent communication between the city and community leaders.
  • Participate in community events and meetings.
  • Assist in creating metrics for neighborhood programs.
  • Assist with special research studies, which include compiling data, analyzing results, and preparing reports and/or illustrative materials.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters academic program pursuing a degree in public administration, social sciences, communications, marketing, non-profit management, or a related field.
  • Background or study in public administration, social sciences, communications, marketing, non-profit management, or related field.
  • Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.
