Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Postal Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of mail and packages within our facility, ensuring that all items are processed efficiently and accurately. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle heavy lifting as part of daily operations.

Duties

  • Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and packages in a timely manner.
  • Load and unload items from delivery trucks, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and inventory using an RF scanner.
  • Assist in the organization of the distribution center or warehouse to optimize workflow.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment safely to transport materials as needed.
  • File documentation related to shipping and receiving processes for easy access and reference.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations within the postal department.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including the use of RF scanners.
  • Ability to operate forklifts; certification is a plus but not required at hiring (training may be provided).
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily responsibilities, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
